Is there a minimum order or delivery charge?
Yes, we have a four item weekly minimum, as well as a $4.00 weekly delivery charge. Additionally, we charge an extra $4.00 Convenience Fee for all orders that are less than 4 items.
What is your billing cycle?
Hornstra Farms is going green! We have eliminated paper billing and have gone to an automated weekly billing process. The credit card of your choice will be automatically debited after each delivery.
How do I place an order?
Orders can be placed at our website up until 11:00 PM, the night before your delivery. Orders can also be placed directly with your driver by filling out one of our convenient order forms. Our trucks are well-stocked so no advance notice is necessary.
What do I do if I do not need a delivery?
You may cancel unneeded deliveries in advance from your online account by using our cancellation icon. You may also phone the office (781-749-1222) in advance. We appreciate at least 24 hour notice.
What if I am not home for a delivery?
Once your delivery has been made, the proper refrigeration of the products is the customer’s responsibility. We offer a galvanized, insulated doorstep box to temporarily store your product, as well as a seasonal ice pack service. Milk boxes are most effective when they are placed in a shady location.
About our bottles...
Please be sure to rinse your empty glass bottles well and return them promptly. Our home delivery customers are NOT charged a bottle deposit. We sterilize and refill our glass bottles to help protect our environment.
How long does milk stay fresh?
When handled properly, our milk will stay fresh for 10-14 days. Please remember that it is the customer’s responsibility to remove the milk from the milk box promptly and then store it at a temperature of 36 degrees.
Holiday deliveries?
We deliver on all holidays, with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas. You will always receive written notice in advance when your delivery day is changed.
Does Hornstra Farms use growth hormones?
No! We will never use RGBH on our cows.
Weather emergencies:
Every November, all of our Hornstra Farms’ trucks are equipped with new snow tires. We assure you that we are ready for whatever Mother Nature has planned. The time of your delivery may vary, depending upon the storm, but we will get there.
